Maximillian George Biga Jr.
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Brother-in-Law went to heaven December 10th 2025. Born in Derby, CT October 27th 1946, son of Maximillian Biga Sr. and Mary (Mongillo) Biga. Max lived in Seymour (up the river) into his teen years. In 1962, he moved to Derby into the house he & his Dad built. He remained in Derby where he married the love of his life, Arleen and raised their family together. He is survived by his loving and loyal wife of Fifty-Six years, Arleen Barrett Biga and his beloved children: Max III (Tammy), Michael (Meredith) and Katie. He is also survived and loved by his grandchildren, he made each one feel like they were his favorite, Kaysa, Kayde, Kylee, Max IV, Brody, along with his step-grandchildren Christian and Adam Shook, his sister Pamela, and his brother-in-law Bill Barrett (Robin) and several nieces and nephews.
Max attended St. Mary's, Notre Dame High School, and University of New Haven. He attended University of Bridgeport for a Master's in Education and University of New Haven for a Master's in Management. He had many careers from a being School Teacher to Union Carpenter for Local 210.
Max was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. He enjoyed teaching and attending bible study at Seymour Evangelical Baptist Church. He was a Deacon at the church and also helped build the church in 1987.
Max was an avid powerlifter, building a gym in his home garage just to make sure he never missed a workout. He also practiced and enjoyed martial arts, fishing, going on long car rides and watching TV. The thing he loved most was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and his precious Miss Kitty.
He was a fighter to the very end and will be deeply missed.
The James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Avenue, Shelton, has been entrusted with arrangements. Friends are invited to Max' celebration of life service on Sunday, December 21st, 2025 at 2 PM at Seymour Evangelical Baptist Church 104 Mountain Rd. Seymour, CT. A gathering will be held following the service in the church hall.
