Dolores Z. Herlihy

Dolores Z. Herlihy, age 93 of Shelton, passed away November 28, 2025 at Bridgeport Hospital.  She was born in Manchester, March 8, 1932, daughter of the late John and Abigail Ambrose Zelenak. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Robert Herlihy, her son Craig Herlihy of Shelton, CT, her daughter Kimberly Herlihy of Norwood, MA, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She is predeceased by her sons Brian Herlihy of RI and Scott Herlihy of Fairfield, CT.  She was a resident of Shelton since 1960 and had an avid love of her art and was an active member of the art league.  She is a former nurse and employee of St. Vincent’s Medical Center.  Her favorite place was the beach where she would spend hours shell seeking.  Calling hours will be held Thursday (TODAY) from 5pm to 8pm at the James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Ave., Shelton.  On Friday, friends and family are invited to go directly to Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery, Derby for a graveside service at 10:30am.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
